LPG Valve

An important function of an LPG valve is to regulate the flow of gas that comes from the cylinder and flows toward the appliance. This way, it ensures a release of the required quantity of gas only. Thus averting over-pressurization of the appliance that may damage or create safety hazards.

LPG is stored in cylinders under pressure, but appliances such as stoves and heaters maintain low pressure. The low-pressure valve acts as a kind of bridge to reduce the pressure of the gas as it leaves the cylinder to reach the appliance. Otherwise, such pressure would be released and could cause damage.

LPG valves have seals that will prevent gas from coming out if the valve is closed. When leakage arises from the valve or is sealed inadequately, gas escapes, making the situation very hazardous. Leakage at use and also in storage is prevented by an appropriate valve.

Most modern low-pressure LPG cylinder valves are attached to shut-off safety devices. These devices cut the gas supply automatically if there is some kind of pressure imbalance, an open flame near the cylinder, and others. This safety precaution would avoid accidents as the cylinder’s gas supply was stopped before this leaking fluid could become a fire or explosion.
